THE MINISTRY OF WORKS AND TRANSPORT, in line with its Mission, i.e., to ensure and regulate the provision of safe, effective and efficient infrastructure and services which are responsible/responsive to socio-economic needs of the public, and in view of the need to be at the forefront of continuous technical capacity development in Namibia, hereby invites interested SME building contractors (especially those involved in government and regional council capital projects) to a pilot TRAINING AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP. This is being rolled out in collaboration with Namibia Small Contractors Association (NSCA).

                  

PURPOSE:

  •  For SME contractors to gain a better understanding of the Tendering process for building construction projects.
  • To improve quality and workmanship will, therefore reducing on costly demolitions.
  • To bring awareness for Contractors to be more diligent and hence timeous project delivery.
  •  Ultimate creation of requisite infrastructure  for central government to deliver on services and mandate.
  •  For Namibia to build her own technical capacity to handle complex projects.
  •  For more jobs to be created for the people, leading to improved standards of living and therefore a reduction  in levels of poverty.
